2009: Minnie Minoprio - Why Stop Now!
Artist: Minnie Minoprio
Album: Why Stop Now!
Label: Nar International
Year: 2009
Format, bitrate: Mp3 Kbps 320
Time: 50:00
Size: 106 MB

With "Why stop now" Minnie Minoprio returns, the last "Lady" of the Italian scenes, icon of a musical panorama of absolute avant-garde. Minnie Minoprio was born in London in 1942 and, she is alumna to the Arts Educational School and to the academy of classical dance, she has debut fifteen-year-old with the showman Tommy Steele in the Colosseum theater in London. Minnie is grown with a cosmopolitan formation that has subsequently stimulated the intellectual vivacity of it, her almost omnivorous desire to experiment and to experiment him in the most different situations. It loves to play with herself incurably knowing how to make center in the most disparate circles for a long time. In her career she has been actress, dancer, writer, announcer. Now the album of return, accompanied by a Super Big Band and she sing: Great Songs From The 20 Century.

2005: Electric Masada - At the Mountains of Madness Artist: Electric Masada

Year: 2005
Format, bitrate: mp3, 320
Size: (180 mb/173 mb)
AMG Rating: 2005: Electric Masada - At the Mountains of Madness

"Immensely powerful and sometimes breathtakingly lyrical" - CD Universe

John Zorn's At the Mountains of Madness presents two sets (Moscow, Ljubljana) recorded at the end of a lengthy European tour. The band is exactly the same as on the 50th Birthday Celebration, Vol. 4 and many of the same tunes are performed, but the performances actually feel very different. Perhaps there was something of wanting to put on a good show for the Europeans vs. playing comfortably at home in familiar surroundings (at Tonic), but this set is a good deal rowdier than the 50th Birthday Celebration. Certainly, the band is at the top of their game after all the touring, and everyone seems to have kicked up the energy a notch or two. There's a lot more conducted improvisation than on the previous Electric Masada release. Ikue Mori's laptop contributions seem to play a more prominent role, and Marc Ribot does some thoroughly deranged things with a delay (which haven't been heard on an album before). Jamie Saft and Zorn are also in fine form and the rhythm section is amazing, especially the dual drum attack of Kenny Wollesen and Joey Baron. Thanks to their improvisational skills, you hardly notice that the program is much the same on both discs. Score another one for John Zorn and company. At the Mountains of Madness is a winner.

2010: Solomon Burke & De Dijk - Hold On Tight
Artist: Solomon Burke & De Dijk
Album: Hold On Tight
Label: Universal Music
Year: 2010
Format Bitrate: MP3 320 kbps
Size: 124mb

Solomon Burke (born March 21, 1940 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA, died October 10, 2010 at Schiphol Airport, The Netherlands) was a soul music pioneer and member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Despite releasing numerous r&b chart hits in the 1960s, he never had a Top 20 hit on the pop charts. Burkes influence, however, has outstripped his mainstream commercial success. He is considered a legend of American music.

2003:John Mclaughlin - Montreux Concerts Box Set Pt ONE: CD1 - CD4

Artist: John McLaughlin
Album: John Mclaughlin Montreux Concerts Box Set (17CD)
Label: Warner Brothers Records
Year: 2003
Format: WavPack
Size: CD1 - CD4 1.27G

Weighing in at more than 3 pounds, including a very esoteric 50-page hardcover booklet, the John McLaughlin: The Montreux Concerts box set is one magnificent mess. Hours upon hours of music provide ample evidence that McLaughlins guitar playing should be used to gauge the tensile strength of various string types and his compositions need to be analyzed for secret messages. Large and small scale experimentation, diversity and virtuosity rule this collection. Even the failed experiments are glorious. This set is a must hear for any John McLaughlin fan. Anyone interested in what the worlds greatest guitarist can do with his instrument should also check it out.

For John McLaughlin fans the past year has been excitingly dizzying and financially draining. First, based upon reviews that McLaughlin stole the show, they purchased the special Miles Davis 5-CD Box Set The Jack Johnson Sessions. Next, they paid top dollar to go see McLaughlins current band, Remember Shakti, as it toured extensively through North America and Europe. During that tour, they had no choice but to notice that John had appeared as a guest on bassist Miroslav Vitous latest release, Universal Syncopations. Ring up another purchase at import pricing! Then McLaughlins own album, Thieves and Poets, was released. That required even more cash. Finally, the 17-CD The Montreux Concerts was released. At more than $300 in some places, fans had to empty out their bank accounts even further. You add the past year up and it has cost McLaughlin fans a fortune. Of course, as any admirer of McLaughlin knows, they really had no choice...

2007:The Sound Stylistics - Play Deep Funk
Artist:The Sound Stylistics
Album: Play Deep Funk
Label: Freestyle Records (FSR LP018)
Year: 2007
Format: mp3 256 kbps (LP)
Time: 54:46
Size: 104 Mb

Original Library release of the album that was commercially released on 2007 by Freestyle Records.
Some tracks were also later released by Mocambo on vinyl 45RPM singles.

Jay Glover, brother Dominic Glover, and Gary Crockett have worked together as a writing and recording team since 1997, when they met whilst touring as members of the James Taylor Quartet. Recorded in 2002 as a Bruton library album, the Sound Stylistics Deep Funk album has weaved its way into funk folklore for collectors the world over, becoming a word of mouth phenomena and a collectors dream, due to its failure to ever get a proper release. Despite file-sharers, bootleggers and back-street dealers pushing illegitimate copies of the tracks, the legendary status of this lost album has not waned one bit. In May 2007 it finally received an official release on the Freestyle label. The album was the number one jazz download on iTunes Japan on its release, and has received rave reviews worldwide from all the specialist soul and funk record dealers. ~ MySpace

1981:Pharoah Sanders - Shukuru
Artist: Pharoah Sanders
Album: Shukuru
Format: FLAC (scans)
Size: 266 MB
Label: Theresa (1985)
Total time: 42:28

An '80s session reuniting a great team from the '70s--vocalist Leon Thomas and tenor saxophonist Pharoah Sanders. They don't take things as far outside as they did then, but still soar and glide while pianist William Henderson, bassist Ray Drummond, and drummer Idris Muhammad fill in underneath them.
