This is classical dixieland from studio vinyl from 1967. It's a rare copy on the Internet. Curiously, but does not keep indifferent as grandmothers with grandfathers, and those who listens to a pop-music, those who an extreme and a techno and all the others. |

1950: Jimmy Dorsey-America's Premier Dixieland Jazz Band Live |

Artist: Jimmy Dorsey Album: America's Premier Dixieland Jazz Band Live Label:Jazz Crusade Year:1950 Release:1998 Format, bitrate:mp3, 192 kb/s Time:58:28 Size: 77.4Mb In 1949 Jimmy Dorsey formed his Original Dorseyland Jazz Band, a Dixieland combo taken out of the personnel of his big band. While Dorsey had been emphasizing his alto playing since the late 1930s and became famous for his pop hits, the Dorseyland band featured no-nonsense and often hyperactive trad jazz. The music on this 1998 CD, some of which had been put out earlier on an obscure Jazz House British LP, is taken from two full-length radio broadcasts. Dorsey (on clarinet except for some alto on "Sweet Lorraine") is matched with the underrated but hot trumpet of Charlie Teagarden, either Bud Hackman or Cutty Cutshall on trombone, Frank Mayne or Buddy Bardach on tenor, Al Waslohn or Bob Carter on piano, bassist Bill Lallotte and either Ray Bauduc or Karl Kiffe on drums. In addition, Pat O'Connor has a couple vocals, including "Charley My Boy," in which she is assisted by Teagarden. The repertoire is chiefly comprised of warhorses, but JD and his men play with such spirit and drive that this is very easy music to enjoy. It is as if Dorsey was finally liberated from his roles as a big bandleader and could at last devote his energy completely to jamming among near-equals. Easily recommended to Dixieland fans. ~ Scott Yanow, All Music Guide |

1987: Flip Phillips with Scott Hamilton - A Sound Investment |

Artists - Flip Phillips & Scott Hamilton Album - A Sound Investment Label - Concord Jazz Year - 1987 Quality - MP3@320 kbps Size - 109 mb Total time - 49:47 AMG Rating By sheer coincidence, this album was recorded a few months before and released just one month after the 1987 stock market crash; hence the upticking curve on the graph depicted on the jacket became a positive antidote of sorts to the financial screwups of the time. But without even seeing the jacket, one is always aware of the good vibes these tenor players generate in these small-combo contemporary swing sessions. Already in his 70s, Flip still plays with mature, husky soul, a slightly wailing upper register, and a feeling for space, while Hamilton's busier, directly booming tone becomes a neutral foil. Of the eight tunes, five of them are by Phillips, and the two rarely miss an opportunity to trade riffs good-naturedly in a friendly JATP manner. Good supporting cast, too, with guitarist Chris Flory making his mark as the ghost of Charlie Christian peers over the music stand. ~ Richard S. Ginell, All Music Guide |

2003: Louis Armstrong - Louis for Lovers |

Artist: Louis Armstrong Album: Louis for Lovers Year: 2003 Label: Verve Genre: Vocal Jazz, Standards Format, bitrate: MP3@320 kb/s Time: 50:52 Size: 120,9 MB (+5% recovery) Though few listeners think of Louis Armstrong (or even Armstrong the jazz vocalist) as a lover man, his rocks-and-gravel voice perfectly expressed the wonder and bemusement of a love affair. The Verve collection Louis for Lovers compiles songs from three of his best latter-day works (I've Got the World on a String, Louis Under the Stars, and Louis Armstrong Meets Oscar Peterson), all recorded during his year-long stint with the label during late 1956 and 1957. Despite his brief time recording at Verve, Armstrong spent much of it on the Great American Songbook, revealing the poetic beauty of well-worn standards like "You Go to My Head" and "Let's Do It (Let's Fall in Love)." ~ John Bush, All Music Guide |

Keith Jarrett - Paris/London (Testament) |

Artist: Keith Jarrett Album: Paris/London (Testament) (3 CD live) Label: ECM Year: 2008 Release: 2009 Style: Avant-Garde/Modern Creative Format mp3, bitrate: 320 kb/s Time: 2:42:19 Size: 377 Mb Bubu's Rating: This is a specially-packaged, specially-priced three CD set. Improvised, solo music from the great American pianist, recorded at two concerts that took place at the end of last year. In his liner notes, Keith gives a highly personal account of the music s inspirational genesis, which is outstanding, even by his own high standards, with powerful emotions never far from the music s surface. These are recordings to put alongside the very finest in Jarrett s solo idiom. The open format, embracing much music in shorter episodes, follows a pattern similar to that found on Radiance, but there are also flashes of the existential poetic flair which made, for instance, the Sun Bear Concerts such a special musical experience. The release of Testament coincides with the 40th anniversary of the ECM label. - Amazon.com |

Keith Jarrett - Standards Vol. 2 |
Music » Jazz |
 |
 |
Artist: Keith Jarrett Album: Standards Vol. 2 Label: ECM Year: 1983 Release: 1985 Style: Post-Bop Format mp3, bitrate: 320 kb/s Time: 45:08 Size: 104 Mb (cover) AMG Rating: One of three trio albums that pianist Keith Jarrett recorded with bassist Gary Peacock and drummer Jack DeJohnette during the same month, this second volume of Standards gets the edge over the first due to its slightly more challenging material. Jarrett, who has often taken himself a bit too seriously, is surprisingly playful at times in this format. In addition to Jarrett's "So Tender," there are such superior songs explored on this date as Alec Wilder's "Moon and Sand," "If I Should Lose You" and "I Fall in Love Too Easily." Bassist Gary Peacock and drummer Jack DeJohnette listen closely to Jarrett and no matter what direction the pianist turns, they are already there waiting for him. - Scott Yanow at AMG |

Keith Jarrett - Standards Vol. 1 |
Music » Jazz |
 |
 |
Artist: Keith Jarrett Album: Standards Vol. 1 Label: ECM Release: 1985 Style: Post-Bop Format mp3, bitrate: 256 kb/s Time: 45:33 Size: 85,3 Mb (cover) AMG Rating: In January of 1983, Keith Jarrett returned to the trio format and his collaboration with bassist Gary Peacock and drummer Jack DeJohnette resulted in three albums. The first release finds the trio digging into five standards with "God Bless the Child" being dragged out (although not unmercifully) for 15 minutes. The performances, which usually do not swing in a conventional sense, do have a momentum of their own. Jarrett is generous in allocating solo space to Peacock and it is obvious that the three musicians were listening very closely to each other. - Scott Yanow at AMG |
